Royals Santa Hat Day At The “K”.

If you have followed us before, you know we go to many Royal’s promotion games, and this past Saturday was no exception with the Santa Hat giveaway. The weekend series was devoted to free promotional hats. Friday night was the Royals cowboy hat day, Saturday was Royals Santa Hat day and to finish it off Sunday was Royals visor day. We asked our kids, out of all the hats, which one would want and of coarse it was the Santa Hat.

We headed out to the game with our early Christmas list in hand prepared to celebrate Christmas in July at the “K”. We were welcomed by the Salvation Army bell ringers and a brass band playing Christmas songs on the first base side. As we entered, we all received our awesome cool Santa Hats and had our picture taken with Santa by “The Picture People” which all proceeds were given to area charities. There was a variety of different Santa’s walking around which made you think Christmas was right around the corner, or you were in a ballpark at the North Pole. We were there an hour early and went to the Saturday 610 Zone, where the kids can get free face painting, play games and enjoy a plate full of delicious famous hand-made sliced polish sausage served by Skimeca’s. This Saturday a boy band, Kychn Synk Acapella, (http://kychnsynk.com) was singing Christmas songs and some famous jingles. They were funny and entertaining with great voices that someday may make them famous. We saw them first at the “K”.

The end of the Royals game was an exciting one with David DeJesus hitting a walk off homerun in the bottom of the 9th inning knocking in two runs to win the game over the Seattle Mariners in a final score of 5 to 4. It was great to see all the great baseball fans stayed until the final end. The crowd was on their feet with loud cheers by all in an exciting end to a beautiful Mother Nature air-conditioned cool night. The entertainment value of a Royals game both on and off the field was incredible and a great value for family fun. Santa said he was guarantying a Royals win, and you know Santa was right!
