FilmFest Kansas City will bring in stars and filmmakers from around the world along with 38 films when it returns to Kansas City's Cinemark's Palace on the Plaza Cinema. Directors and actors from several films will be in attendance and several major studio releases will be seen first. Scheduled guests include Karolyn Grimes, whose films include "The Bishop's Wife" and "It's a Wonderful Life". Scheduled films range from major studio films like "Secondhand Lions", starring Michael Caine and Robert Duvall, to Independent films. The public is invited to the opening night party, featuring special guests and filmmakers will take place on Thursday, September 4th starting at 7:00 PM at the beautiful and just renovated Screenland Building located at 17th and Washington Ave (one block west of Broadway) Information regarding Festival Passes and tickets plus the movie schedule will be available at the Film Society's web site: www.filmkc.org.
