As many readers may or may not know, Robert Altman is a relative of the Vince Koehler Sr. family through Vince’s wife (maiden name Marieann Altman). As a result we have always been closely linked as proud supporters of Robert and excited about the upcoming 3-day film festival in honor of Robert Altman. Here's where things stand on the Robert Altman film festival.
- The dates are April 27th, 28th & 29th at the Screenland Granada at 10th & Minnesota in downtown KCK. It will be sponsored by the Kansas City Film Critics Circle as a benefit for the Film Society of Greater Kansas City.
- There are 8 films confirmed with sponsors: Kansas City, Nashville, MASH, The Player, Short Cuts, Gosford Park, A Prairie Home Companion and McCabe & Mrs. Miller.
- Ticket prices will be: $10 for the opening night reception and screening of Kansas City; $8 for individual tickets to all other movies; $30 for a complete festival pass. Tickets will be available through the
Screenland website . Festival passes will also be available at the box offices of the Screenland and the Granada.
- Details on the opening night reception are being worked out. Right now, we know there will be catering, live Jazz music, VIPs and locals with Altman connections to attend. I also heard their may be a silent auction.
