Most popular country-dances of 2004:
A new survey of over 170 clubs and prominent dance locations nationwide reveals the most played and most requested country-dance songs of 2004. Big and Rich captured the first and third spots with their hit "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" and its dance mix. Gretchen Wilson took second place with her smash "Redneck Woman" and rounded out the Top 10 with her hit "Here for the Party." Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar" was No. 4 and Mark Chestnutt's "The Lord Loves the Drinkin' Man" was No. 5. Wayne Warner took No, 6 with "Turbo Twang", while Blake Shelton's "Some Beach" charted at No. 7. Keith Urban's "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me" was No. 8 and Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying" was No 9.

Soon, an unauthorized movie will be released about Shania Twain's life. I first met Shania years ago when she visited Kansas City on a whirlwind tour for Mercury Records. She did a gig along with Toby Keith at a country and western club in Westport. During my interview prior to her show she shared how her parents were killed in a car crash and she had to raise her family. She worked very hard at a local hotel to make ends meet and eventually got on her track to stardom. Sitting there in Westport, I realized she had the potential to be a big star and was very humble. She commented about the movie that she had no time to get into trouble growing up and is anxious to see what the movie will show.

Terri Clark commented she enjoyed playing Vegas during he National Finals Rodeo. She said it is so much fun because all the country fans are in one place. This happens for 10 days every December. I just happened to be in Vegas during this time and I was amazed at the attention given to the country scene and rodeo. The big screen TV's at the casinos had the rodeo on at all times and large bandstands in the streets featured different country performers like Terry Clark. In addition to Terri, Keith Urban, Big & Rich, Trace Adkins and a list a mile long performed. The Laser light show downtown projected giant images of country stars doing their hits. Everywhere you looked were cowboy hats, bull riding stations and country everything. I agree with Terri Clark, it was an experince I will never forget.
