Everyone remembers the hit movie about the young boy who desperately wanted a genuine Red Rider BB gun for Christmas and all the funny things that happen with his family and friends. This play is adapted by Philip Grecian from the original story by Jean Shepherd and is a pleasant outing. Ralphie, an average 9-year-old kid pleads his case for a BB gun to everyone and seems to meet disaster at every turn, including run ins with the neighborhood bully, his schoolteacher, family members and even the department store Santa Claus. This holiday classic is fun to see and carries a great holiday message, that, in the long run, family is more important than any gift you could receive, even if it is a Daisy Red Ryder Carbine Action BB Gun! The play stars Craig Benton as the Narrator, Sarah Crawford as Miss Shields, Martin English as the Old Man, Melinda McCrary as Mother, Jack Hochman as Ralphie and Jackson Carter as Randy. There is a wonderful cast of children that play Ralphie's friends and schoolmates. Who can forget the Santa Claus scene, or the family's encounter with a prize leg lamp, or the final confrontation with the neighborhood Bully? Donna Thomason directs this spirited play. Enjoy a great show.
